This chapter describes 20 pharmaceutical preparations of Sudha (Indian Spurge Tree, Euphorbia neriifolia)—the most drastic purgative in the entire pharmacopeia. Reserved for severe dosha accumulations in anemia, ascites, tumors, skin diseases, diabetes, and poisoning. A remarkable innovation is the medicated garland delivery: purgative drugs processed with cow urine and Sudha latex, applied as an aromatic garland, enabling purgation via transdermal/inhalation in patients whose sensitive bowels contraindicate oral Sudha. This represents one of the earliest recorded non-oral drug delivery systems.
