Overview
Blue Shankhapushpi is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for brain fog & memory. Vishnukranta (Evolvulus alsinoides) is described as the blue-flowered variety of Shankhapushpi. It is found throughout India at altitudes up to 6000 feet. It is a small prostrate herb with blue flowers. Like white Shankhapushpi, it has Medhya (brain tonic) properties. The leaves are small, 4-25 mm long. The whole plant is used medicinally. It is used for mental weakness, memory loss, and speech disorders. Dose: 1-2 tola. Verse: 269-270.
