Overview

Nagapushpi is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for inflammation. Nagapushpi (Vitex peduncularis) is a small tree found in hilly areas. The leaves and bark are used medicinally. It grows to about 20 feet with 25 foot canopy. Its leaves and bark have fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory properties. Also mentioned is V. leucoxylon as a variety. Verse refs: pages 442-443.
